Since the outbreak of revolution, the ideas we all have about Syria have changed. We now focus on the war, on thousands of dead people, injured children, homeless families and the agony of Syrians coping with the war, and with a regime that is trying to force its people to give up the call for freedom.
This war is changing Syria – not only the lives of over 20 million people but also the country itself. The regime uses museums as military bases and bombs cultural sites on a daily basis.
But what was Syria like before the war? We want to share our memories and collect the picture we used to have in mind of this beautiful country with an ancient and varied culture. Write to us about your trips to Syria, send us your pictures – or do both!
